Check that the spike is rotatable in relation to the stud and also check that the threads on your shoe are clean and in good condition.
Once the stud is tightened, it will lock the rotation of the spike in the desired position.
To do this, start to screw in the stud, using the provided key, while leaving the point free to rotate.
Give to the spike the desired orientation, taking into account the remaining screwing, and then finish screwing in the clamp. A good tightening is necessary.
If you cannot achieve the desired orientation, then loosen the clamp until the spike can rotate on itself, give the point the desired orientation taking into account the remaining screwing, screw the clamp back in and you are done!
Remember that this high performance crampon should not be used on hard and abrasive surfaces, but it does allow you to move between holes with care.
